Experience:
Jonathan was admitted to legal practice in 1991 and commenced his career in a top tier London commercial law firm.  He worked as a solicitor for three years before returning to Australia.  He then held a position at Ebsworth & Ebsworth. In 1996 Jonathan was called to the Bar.   He has a Masters in Intellectual Property  from the University of Melbourne.

Of note:

Jonathan holds the rank of Major in the Australian Army and provides specialist legal advice to Defence on a range of military matters. In 2006 Jonathan deployed to Iraq as counsel assisting a Board of Inquiry into the death of PTE Jake Kovco and subsequently received the Iraq Campaign Medal and the Australian Active Service Medal.

 

Outside the Law:

His interests include military history, kayaking on the harbour and motorcycle touring.
